Our most loyal and generous donors are invited to join our recognition societies, a community with exclusive access to special updates, event invitations and behind-the-scenes insights into the impact of your giving.
Societies
The Black & Gold Loyalty Society recognizes donors who have made gifts to VCU — of any amount and to any areas of the university — for three or more consecutive years. Whether you’re just beginning a lifelong commitment to annual giving or you’ve been a supporter for 35 years, you help the university carry out its mission of innovative academics and research, community impact and uncommon excellence. Together, the Black & Gold Loyalty Society’s nearly 6,000 members contribute more than $30 million to VCU each year.
Consecutive years of giving are counted by fiscal year, which runs from July 1 to June 30.
President’s Club members demonstrate their dedication to VCU’s vision and values through their annual giving with total gifts of $5,000 or more in one fiscal year. Your annual leadership giving provides critical funding to advance universitywide initiatives and support students, faculty members, university staff, health professionals and patients across VCU and VCU Health.
Total gifts are counted by fiscal year, which runs from July 1 to June 30.
The Founders’ Society honors the most generous and engaged supporters of the university and VCU Health. Founders’ Society members are individuals who have made cumulative gifts of $250,000 or more to the university or its associated foundations. Founders’ members also receive lifetime membership to VCU’s Women’s Impact Network.
The Unlocking Potential Campaign Leadership Society is a new recognition society created in celebration of Unlocking Potential: VCU’s Campaign for the Future. The significant contributions of individuals who have committed $1 million or more since July 1, 2020, is helping to drive transformational change across our campuses and beyond.
The Heritage Society on the Monroe Park Campus, the Medical College of Virginia Society on the MCV Campus and the Lawrence Society at VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center recognize individuals who have made estate or planned gifts for the benefit of the university or VCU Health in their wills, revocable trusts, retirement plans, life insurance policies, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts and charitable lead trusts.
